Richard W. Campbell, (1927-2012)
Campbell, Williams, Ference & Hall was originally founded by Richard W. Campbell as Campbell & Neeley. Richard, admitted to the Utah Bar in 1953, was a distinguished member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and American College of Trial Lawyers. He was recognized as the Utah Trial Lawyer of the Year in 1988 and received the Utah Second District Inaugural Professionalism Award in 2006. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II and was best remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Campbell built the reputation of the firm on principles of honesty, integrity and communication.
Since 1992, the firm name has changed from time to time, but Mr. Campbell’s legacy has always remained a guiding example. Our firm has been located in Ogden, Salt Lake City, and now Millcreek with different names through the years.

Campbell, Williams, Ference & Hall has long been recognized as one of Utah’s most well-respected and experienced law firms for its representation of Utah’s healthcare industry and practitioners. [Hal, can we link somehow to our Healthcare Defense page here? Maybe over the words “Utah’s healthcare industry and practitioners.”] In April 2020, when Derek Williams joined as a partner, he not only brought his experience in medical malpractice defense, but because of his own family connection, we were excited to add a unique practice of adoption law to our firm. [Link to Adoption page over “adoption law”] Assistance with private, agency, foster, step-parent and interstate adoptions is now available.
In 2023, with the addition of another very strong attorney, Cameron Beech, Campbell, Williams, Ference and Hall continues to expand into other practice areas, including landlord/tenant law, family law, business law, and estate planning & probate law. [Add Links to those pages} Our primary objective is to provide effective representation at a fair and reasonable cost, and to continue building on Mr. Campbell’s principles of honesty, integrity and communication. We make every effort to avoid protracted litigation when possible and to keep our clients fully informed of the progress of their case. Our attorneys are dedicated to providing the highest quality legal representation to our clients.
